Who We Are

About TVA

Triumph Volleyball Academy has been developing youth athletes in the Central Valley since 2011. Faith is not a footnote here. It is the whole point.

TVA Vision and Mission

Our Vision

"To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches and the sport of volleyball."

Our Mission

Develop student athletes physically, mentally, and spiritually through high-quality volleyball training in a Christian environment.

"Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

1 Corinthians 10:31

Our Founders

Steve & Danene

Steve and Danene - Founders of Triumph Volleyball Academy

Steve Guglielmana has coached volleyball in the Central Valley for over 30 years, including leading Madera South to a Central Section Championship. Danene was an All-American track and field athlete at Fresno State and a provisional qualifier for the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. Sport has always been part of their family’s story.

They built TVA not as a club with a cut list, but as an academy - open, affordable, and rooted in the belief that volleyball is a vehicle for something far more important than wins. Today the program includes boys indoor, girls indoor, and sand teams, with over 30 alumni who went on to play in college.

“The sport is the platform. The mission is bigger.”

The Story Behind TVA

Landon’s Dream

Every court, every camp, every kid who steps onto this sand is part of a story that started long before TVA had a name.

Landon Sand Courts at Triumph Volleyball Academy

Landon Sand Courts — Madera, CA

Landon Guglielmana grew up in Madera, the eldest son of Steve and Danene. He was a three-year team captain at Madera South High School, the school’s career leader in digs, aces, and kills. He graduated second in his class. In the fall of 2009, he enrolled at Limestone College in South Carolina as a member of their inaugural men’s volleyball team.

Before he left for college, Landon had a simple idea: build sand courts in Madera and run summer clinics to earn extra money doing what he loved. He never got to do it. On November 30, 2009, at 18 years old, Landon died in a car accident returning to campus from Thanksgiving break.

Steve built the sand courts anyway. He named them the Landon Sand Courts. Two years later, in 2011, he and Danene founded Triumph Volleyball Academy around them. The mission Landon carried in his own life - faith, competitiveness, and genuine love for people - became the foundation of everything TVA is.

“Landon never got to see what he started. But every kid who steps on these courts is living out the dream he had. That’s what keeps us going.”

Madera Landmark

The Palm and the Pine

Just south of Madera, a Deodar Cedar and a Canary Island Date Palm have stood side by side for more than a century, planted in the 1920s to mark the halfway point of California. TVA trains on the same sand and is proud to honor the trees that have welcomed travelers home for generations.

Our Core Values

The sport is the vehicle. These are the values that drive it.

Faith First

Volleyball is the vehicle here, not the destination. Every practice runs through the lens of 1 Corinthians 10:31. Athletes and coaches show up with a higher purpose in mind.

Community

TVA has been around since 2011, and the families who stick around do so because they found something real. Connections formed in this program tend to outlast the season.

Excellence

The standard at TVA is high and on purpose. Coaches push athletes to train hard and compete harder. Winning matters here. It is never the only thing that matters.
